Here’s why my site is named wist.wordpress.com:
1. My best friend and I made up the word wist as a verb meaning to feel wistful. For example: I pine, I wist. It’s when you long for something. You wist.
2. The first blog I read regularly made me wist every time I read it. That blog–and that feeling–inspired me to create my own blog. But I don’t think each of these entries will be wistful.
3. When you look up “whist,” it’s an interjection meaning Hush. Be still. Silence.
4. When you look up “wist,” its archaic meaning is to know. It’s also related to the word wit, which I’m just full of.
5. It’s short and sweet.
