who
I’m Sarah, and I am a 2008 graduate of a small liberal arts college in central Ohio. I graduated with an English major (concentration in creative writing) and a religion minor.
what
My first job post-graduation grants me the title of “social justice advocate,” and moves me 25 hours from where I grew up. I will also be known as a “missionary,” but not on a mission to convert people.
why
I believe God calls us to serve the poor and advocate for the oppressed, a practice revealed through Jesus’ words and actions. I would like my life to demonstrate that Jesus is my Rabbi.
One Bible verse that inspires me in my faith journey is Galatians 3:28, which shows God’s vision of equality for all: There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
etc.
I have three older brothers and two parents. I’ve been to Spain, Gibraltar, and France (but just Paris for the airport). I like doggies. My hobbies, in helpful categories, are as follows:
mind
* reading
* writing
* rereading
body
* riding bikes
* taking walks
* hiking
* eating Cheerios
soul
* journaling my prayers
* reading a daily devotion from The Upper Room Disciplines 2009
* singing worship music with friends who can play the guitar
* playing Methodist hymns on the piano
music
* playing the piano
* singing alto
* dancing
* whistling like a bird from any mid-century Disney movie
environment
* recycling
* bike-commuting
* buying used clothes and used books
* bringing a reusable cloth bag to the grocery store instead of wasting plastic bags
* driving a stick-shift car for gas efficiency

You are so beautiful! What a wonderful picture and such a big smile (and beautiful blue eyes, too.) I love you!
I was reading your hobbies and my brain put the category “mind” right next to the sub-item “reading”… which came out as Hobbies… Mind-reading.
Thankfully I was able to re-read it and get the correct meaning.
How far is 25 hours in miles?
1,840 miles from where I grew up, but only 1,730 miles from where I went to college
Best of luck in your ministry. Glad you had a positive experience in Harlem

I wish you well on your journey and mission.

I deleted your comment about necessarily hurtful. But thanks for the intriguing thought just the same.
